Help Us Help JoeAnna’s House: Support a Home Away from Home

At Big White Ski Resort, we believe that community care starts with showing up for those who need it most — not just on the slopes, but in life.

That’s why we’re proud to support JoeAnna’s House, a sanctuary for families whose loved ones are receiving care at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).

Since opening in 2019, JoeAnna’s House has welcomed over 2,500 families from across 308 towns and cities in BC’s Interior, providing over 24,000 overnight stays in a comforting, affordable home-away-from-home during some of life’s most difficult moments.

And this vital support wouldn't be possible without the generosity of the community — because JoeAnna’s House is funded entirely through donations.

A Longstanding Commitment

Big White has been proud to stand behind JoeAnna’s House and the KGH Foundation through several initiatives over the years, from hosting fundraising events to offering direct contributions:

In 2023, our annual TELUS Kelowna Cup raised $22,050, bringing the total raised through this beloved race event to over $190,000 in support of JoeAnna’s House and other local charities.
We contributed $5,550 to the KGH Foundation’s Day of Giving, part of a community-wide effort that raised nearly $800,000 for vital medical equipment.
In 2024, we proudly served as title sponsor for the inaugural Rock the Foundation, raising over $60,000 for mental health care at KGH. In the winter of 2024, Big White Ski Resort provided $5,000 in funding to JoeAnna’s House in support of their expansion initiative and the Winter Wonderland fundraising event.

These initiatives are more than fundraisers — they’re community celebrations rooted in compassion, shared purpose, and action.

JoeAnna’s House is Expanding

Today, JoeAnna’s House faces a growing need. With a constant waitlist, over 951 families have been turned away since opening. To meet this demand, the KGH Foundation has launched a $5.3 million expansion campaign to increase capacity by 50%, adding 10 more rooms and welcoming more families in need.
