“I’m looking forward to the Nationals. I heard the track is going to be great for everyone. The crew at Big White is so passionate about our sport and they always put on an amazing event. I can’t wait to watch the juniors race and do a bunch of training together,“ said four times Olympian Maëlle Ricker.
Canada Snowboard’s snowboardcross and para-snowboard teams had an excellent season this year combining two FIS World Championships medals, one FIS Crystal Globe, 19 podiums and 15 top-10’s on the FIS and IPC World Cup tour. These Canadian snowboardcross Championships and IPC World Cups will be the last chance to see our Olympic hopefuls compete here in Kelowna before the Sochi 2014 winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Big White was chosen because of our reputation as a solid snowboardcross venue. To have the IPC Para-Snowboard World Cup at Big White allows us to have a chance to showcase what we can do,“ said Flynn Seddon, Director of Terrain Park and Outdoor events.
