TELUS Park in Top 5 of 2018 Park Poll | Newschoolers
This month, freestyle skiing forum, Newschoolers, released their official ranking of the best terrain parks in the Northwest for 2018. Using comprehensive stats, such as number of features per park, from Snow Park Technologies, combined with Newschoolers own user-generated Park Poll - this years list highlights parks that bring the most stoke for even the most discerning park skier.
And it's no surprise Big White Ski Resort's TELUS Park made it into the top five! Featuring its very own 700m double chairlift, TELUS Park riders can enjoy and workshop features again and again with other park enthusiasts. The TELUS Park playground also includes pipes, a variety of different sized jumps, and an interesting flow of jib features.
“The park is built around the progression system, consisting of small, medium, large and extra-large sizing,” said Flynn Seddon, Director of Terrain Parks and Outdoor Events. “This allows skiers and snowboarders to progress along at their own pace and ride within their ability range. The areas are separated, allowing riders to ski and board in the zone that they are most comfortable in.”
In 2016, TELUS Park was named one of the best terrain parks in North America, USA TODAY 10Best award. Coming in at second place on the "10Best" leaderboard, TELUS Park was one of only two Canadian terrain parks on the list, the other being Whistler's Blackcomb.
