Snowshoeing is fun for everyone! Rent your own snowshoes and choose your own adventure through our trails. Snowshoeing is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace. No previous experience is needed - if you can walk you can snowshoe! With an extensive trail network, get off the beaten track and explore the winter wonderland.
Snowshoe Tours
Our snowshoe trails are in the secluded wilderness where you get to encounter nature’s splendour and signs of the local wildlife Canadian Snowshoeing has become easier than ever with new lightweight designs, making it a great family activity. Experienced trail guides can take you on a tour and provide you with knowledge of the Big White area, or you can venture on your own. Snowshoeing tour options are available from beginner to advanced, making this a fun winter adventure for all skill levels.
We have two different types of tours. The Interpretive Tour and Family Adventure Tour. Please be aware that the Interpretive Tour is more of an active tour and the Family Adventure Tour is more of a leisure tour. For more information on what each tour involves please see below.
Booking is recommended at least 24-hours in advance.

Please Note: Snowshoe tours are scheduled daily, hours and dates of operation are subject to change based upon weather and conditions. Prices do not include tax and are subject to change without notice. Maximum number of participants per guide = 8
Please Note: the above prices do not include a trail pass. If you have a Season Pass or valid lift ticket for the day of your Snowshoe Tour you do not need to purchase a Trail Pass.
A parent or guardian must accompany children 15 years or younger (Family Tour). If an adult (not a family member) signs up for a tour at the same time, they cannot join in. If you require snowshoe rentals, please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before your lesson time in order to get your snowshoes set up before the lesson start time.All guests are welcome on any tour, please be aware that the Interpretive Tour is more of an active tour and the Family Adventure Tour is more of a leisure tour.
Interpretive Tour (16 years old and up only)
Become one with nature on our interpretive tour and learn about the local flora and fauna from our experienced guides.
- Fully-trained guides will share their knowledge of the beautiful British Columbian back-country, flora and fauna.
- A perfect 2-hour tour for all abilities.
- Departs from the Ski & Board School desk in the Village Centre Mall. If you need to pick up rental equipment, please arrive 15 minutes before your lesson time.
- Poles are required for all participants
Family Adventure Tour (8 years old and up only)
Enjoy the great outdoors with the whole family, regardless of ability. Head out on the trails with our fully-trained guides who will tailor the route to suit your group.
- Our fully-trained guides will tailor your route to suit the needs of everyone in your group.
- A perfect 2-hour tour for the family; all ages are welcome on this fun tour
- Departs from the Ski & Board School desk in the Village Centre Mall. If you need to pick up rental equipment, please arrive 15 minutes before your lesson time.
- Poles are required for all participants

Trail ticket does not include tax (5% GST) or $10 Card Fee. Ticket pricing subject to change without notice. Trail Pass can be purchased from the Ticket Office in the Village Centre Mall.
No Trail Pass is needed if you have a current Seasons Pass or Day Ticket, access to the trails is included.
Helpful Information
- Take the free gondola up to the village to purchase your trail pass at the ticket office in the Village Centre
- Nordic ski equipment and snowshoes are available for rent from the rental shop at the Village Centre Mall

How to Get There
- From the Village Centre - take Lara's Gondola to Happy Valley, turn left across the bridge into the Adventure Park, past the beginners slopes to the large map (past the Washroom cabin). The trail head is just past the map.
- By Vehicle - Park in the Happy Valley Parking Lot, proceed across the bridge nto the Adventure Park, past the beginners slopes to the large map (past the Washroom cabin). The trail head is just past the map.
