Mainly sunny with a few clouds today, then increasing cloud this evening. Periods of rain is expected to begin near midnight tonight, becoming snow before morning. Risk of freezing rain in the alpine overnight tonight. Rainfall amounts of 3-6 mm and isolated snowfall amounts of 2-4 cm are possible by tomorrow morning. Ridge winds up to 20-30 km/h gusting to 35-45 km/h today, then increasing to 30-40 km/h gusting to 45-55 km/h tonight. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 3000-3500 m today, then falling to 1500-2000 m overnight tonight.

Synopsis

A ridge of high pressure continues to bring mainly sunny skies and light-moderate ridge winds today then begins to break down by this evening. A series of impulses from multiple Pacific lows are expected to bring unsettled conditions through Tuesday, starting off with periods of rain/snow mix (risk of freezing rain in the alpine) and moderate-strong ridge winds overnight tonight. Scattered flurries/rain showers mix (slight risk of thundershowers late afternoon) are then expected tomorrow, followed by snow tomorrow night and again Tuesday night with moderate-strong ridge winds expected tomorrow/Tuesday. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 3000-3500 m are expected today, falling to 1500-2000 m tonight, then rising to 2000-2500 m tomorrow and finally 1800-2300 m on Tuesday.

3 to 5 Day Outlook

The last impulse is expected to bring isolated flurries and light-moderate ridge winds on Wednesday. Finally, a ridge of high pressure builds over the region on Thursday with fair/dry conditions and moderate-strong ridge winds expected. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 2000-2500 m on Wednesday and 2500-3000 m on Thursday are expected. THIS IS THE LAST FORECAST OF THE SEASON.
