Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna, British Columbia Canada is reporting record tourism numbers for the Christmas season, according to resort Senior Vice President Michael J Ballingall.

The Christmas Eve Parade is one of Big White's favorite traditions, and the festivities this year were nothing short of spectacular.

After a hard night of delivering presents to boys and girls around the world, Santa came to Big White to let off some steam!

This season, Big White Ski Resort once again challenged all skiers and snowboarders to get into the spirit of the festive season by dressing like Santa or Mrs. Claus for their day on the slopes.

There are only seven days left until the Big White snow season kicks off - and everyone is incredibly excited about it. Skiing, snowboarding, fresh powder, apres ski, hot chocolate, warm fireplaces, tasty burgers, fairy lights twinkling through the Village... there's nothing better than a snow trip with family or friends. Skiing is a pretty dynamic sport, the snow conditions change throughout the day, the slope varies from run to run and the weather is also a pretty big factor that you often need to adjust to. However, even with all these inconsistent elements there’s one consistent feeling that you can try to create that will help you deal with whatever the mountain throws at you. Simply put, it’s standing in the middle of your downhill ski.

Ice climbing is typically considered an extreme and niche sport, left to those brave few willing to venture into the back-country in search of a frozen waterfall suitable for climbing. However, guests at Big White are able to swap skis for crampons within minutes since the opening of their man-made ice tower in 2010. In response to growing enthusiasm, Big White will launch an “Ice Climbing Series” this winter. Three winter clinics, led by Canadian ice climbing experts, will culminate in a thrilling Ice Climbing competition. From beginner to expert, Big White is the only ski resort in North America offering this unique experience for all to enjoy.
